Bonsai Care

Deciduous tree, slow growing with box-like leaves and small white flowers. They may produce black berries if fertilized by a male tree.

STYLE : best suited to all styles, except possibly broom.

WARNING : Berries will only form on a female tree if there is a male tree present to fertilize it. Brittle stems require careful pruning.

Care Info

REPOT : Every 2-3 years in spring, less frequently, as required, for older, larger trees.

SOIL : Free draining soil : 40:60 grit:organic.

PRUNE : Autumn/early spring before new growth. Hard prune in summer to regenerate growth on weak branches.

PINCH : Trim to shape throughout summer.

WATER : Water well in growing season and keep moist in winter. Spray regularly in warm weather.

FEED : Balanced feed every 2 weeks in summer. Nitrogen free in autumn.
