Also referred to as Japanese Flowering Apricot. DECIDUOUSTREE>DECIDUOUS TREE with oval, TAPER pointed, mid-green LEAVES producing blossom, FRUITs and large blooms of fragrant FLOWERS on bare winter branches.

STYLE : suited to every style, except formal upright and broom.

WARNING : Do not allow soil to dry out while in BUD>BUD, otherwise buds will drop. Protect from frost to avoid DIE-BACK or flower damage.


Care Info

Apricot (Prunus muME) -

LOCATION : Enjoys full sun and heat in a well-aired position. Branches can suffer from frost damage.

REPOT : Annually in a deepish pot in late winter, after flowering. 

SOIL : Free draining soil : 40:60 GRIT:organic. Adddition of a small amount of LOAM also helpful. Ph. 6.0-8.0.

PRUNE : Hard prune after flowering, allow unhindered growth during summer.

PINCH: Trim new SHOOTS in autumn.

WATER : Water well in growing season, sparingly in winter.

FEED : Apply BALANCED FEED in spring, heavy nitrogen feed in summer and nitrogen free feed in autumn to encourage winter flowering.
