Japanese name Enoki. This is a small deciduous tree bearing shiny oval leaves and small bright orange fruits, which can be grown as indoor or outdoor tree.

STYLE : Well structurd branches and a fine tracey of twigs make this ideal for broom style.

WARNING : Must have a dormant period during winter or will die before spring. If kept indoors then move to a sheltered outdoor position for winter.

Care Info

REPOT : Regular (annual) repotting ensures roots remain healthy. When young just before bud break after winter. Older trees can be repotted ever alternate year. These trees can be bare rooted at the right time of the year and they tolerate very severe root pruning.

SOIL : Free draining soil : 40:60 grit:organic.

PRUNE : Hard prune branches and thin ovr-dense twigs late winter/early spring.

PINCH: Trim to shape as required during growing season.

WATER : Water well in growing season, sparingly in winter. Roots will rot if soil left wet.

FEED : Apply low nitrogen feed in spring/summer and nitrogen free from late summer to leaf fall.
