Slow growing EVERGREEN CONIFER with grey-brown BARK with russet underlay. Bears dark green, NEEDLE-like LEAVES (LANCEOLATE (LEAF)) with paler undersides than the common yew, with small pink (as opposed to green) FLOWERS in spring and deep-pink berries. All foliage is poisonous except for the fleshy BERRY surrounding the seed. Nana is a DWARF form well suited to small BONSAI>BONSAI>BONSAI styles.

STYLE : Suitable for most styles, except broom.

WARNING : Foliage is poisonous to animals and humans. Keep shaded and sheltered from wind all year

YEW - JAPANESE (TAXUS CUSPIDATA) -

 

REPOT : Every 3-4 years depending on age, in mid to late spring.

SOIL : Free draining soil : 30:70 GRIT:organic. Use of larger than average particle sizes of organic matter to retain moisture.

PRUNE : SumMEr PRUNING.

PINCH : Pinch back NEEDLEs around new growth during growing season. Wait until after flowering if FRUITing is required.

WATER : Water well in growing season, sparingly in winter. Benefits from foliar spraying with water.

FEED : Two weekly BALANCED FEED during growing season, low nitrogen in autumn.

WARNING : Foliage is poisonous to animals and humans. Keep shaded and sheltered from wind all year
