This months Programme - January 2023 for Ayrshire - Bonsai

Hi all Ayrshire Group Members. A Very Happy New Year to you all. hope the festive Season has been enjoyable for all of you and your families. Our next scheduled meeting will be Sunday 8th January 2023 and will be at Alloway Village Hall as usual. It will take the form of our Winter Image Display and will require some time and effort to set it up for usual 1.30pm start. So please attend about 12.15 / 12.30 on the day to lend a hand. All being well our potter / bonsai provision colleagues will be setting up shop. No need for our usual separate display tables but please bring along something for Winter Image Display. Dont be shy - of course you have something to fit the bill - its your / mine / our show. Lets hope the weather will be kind and allow as many as possible to travel to event. Lets all look forward to a nice show. Can I please also remind all Group members that some have still to pay their SBA membership dues. If you are in that category please renew ASAP. I would also remind members that the funeral of our late colleague Gordon Baird will be at 4.15 pm on Thursday 5th January 2023 at Masonhill Crematorium, Ayr.

This months Programme - January 2023 for Forth Valley - Bonsai

Hi all,

our next meeting is Tuesday 7th. February and the theme will be wiring deciduous trees.

As usual I urge everyone to bring trees along, it is often through seeing other trees that we get inspiration to do something similar to a degree or indeed take the idea even further.

Looking forward to the new season.

Cheers,

R.S.

Next months Programme February 2023 -

Next meeting: Tuesday 14th February, Penicuik town hall, 7pm.

Planning, pruning and wiring of deciduous trees, whilst they are still bare of leaves. Bring any species, or if you do not have one then bring a conifer. Club wire should be available.  Keith will bring the club juniper so that we can debate the next steps ten years into its development. This gives us all the chance to asses a relatively mature tree. Thanks to Keith for his stewarding and work to improve the tree over the decade.  All welcome
